I tumble into his arms
like a fallen leaf swirling in the air
before ground,
and he carries me, naked in the twilight,
to the cave entrance, the only place I wish to be.
Beneath a cocoon of bearskins, musk, and Loki,
my fire stokes awake from dormant.
I’m a leaf falling from a branch. Loki catches me
on my way down, at my last breaths.
“Everything dies,” Loki says,
as the world darkens, his warmth draws nearer.
A candlelit journey through autumn’s intimacy. Music for slow dancing, intentional touch, and the flicker of flame. -Lilith
